It sounds like swelling behind the eye rather than brain swelling.. Could it be optic neuritis?
Neurologist best plan but if get new symptoms go to a and e. Neurotic appt can be a few months

How awful for you .
Just thinking if you have another episode of feeling drunk and headache - go to A&E ?
You shouldn't have to of course ,but I just feel that you would be justified and might get seen more quickly .

Yes I think the next step is seeing the neurologist. Have you got an appointment lined up? I agree with Selks-chase appointments if necessary. Best wishes.

So sorry that you're going through this - it sounds frightening for you. I don't know what the correct course of action is but do see the neurologist.
Don't be scared to push for treatment and don''t be fobbed off...your vision is so important. I hope you get the answers you need and the treatment too. Best wishes.

Quite a while ago, coming up to a year I guess, i noticed my vision was getting a bit blurry. I wear glasses anyway, and figured that my prescription just needed amending - i am fairly young. Due to work/life commitments, I ignored the change until i started getting headaches and then made my way to the optician.
The opticians then told me that I had a mass behind my eye
and referred me to an eye hospital immediately.
i went to the hospital and was fobbed off on a number of occasions. When i eventually got seen some weeks later they told me there was no swelling, just a swelling behind my eye - possibly on my eye stem.
I was told to go away and come back in a month or so. I never heard from them again.
My vision has deteriorated a lot over the last couple of months (since the appointment with the hospital) and i am getting increasing headaches and sometimes it feels like I am drunk.
I went again to the doctors who sent me back to the eye hospital who had forgotten about me
but couldn't help me in anyway. I have now been referred to a neurologist for further tests.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing my symptoms, or the swelling (if it is swelling, i am now very mistrustful of the hospital)? and is a referral to the neurologist the correct course of action do you think? or should i push for something else? If i could afford to go private i would, but it is simply not an option for me right now.
