I have recently noticed that there are sorts of folds of skin hanging below the back wall of my vagina (towards the perineum). I am not sure what this is but fear it is the wall of my vagina. I don't understand why this has happened or if there is anything i can do to make it better. I don't appear to have any other symptoms and sex is fine. Can anyone enlighten me?

Ask a female GP to do an internal examination.

Hi blue I'm a women's health physio.

Symptoms of prolapse are usually: a dragging feeling/heaviness in nethers, continence probs when you cough/sneeze/laugh, problems using tampons, painful sex, pelvic pain, feeling lof something falling out.

It's considered medically normal for a woma to ahve up to a grade 2 prolapse after 2 vaginal deliveries. That's not to say that you have to put up with it, but to say that it's ot uncommon.

Do what digerd suggests. The only way to tell is to let someone have an eyeful.

There's lots that can be done to help, minor prolapses can be managed by exercises and diet alone.

Don't put up with it, without management they get tend to get worse

and having your cervix drag along the pavement is not nice

I have some prolapses now I'm much older, but the "dragging of the cervix along the ground" made me laugh < good we women can joke about these things>, but I had the rim of mine removed 20 years ago and it healed wonky - good thing it is not on show-, so think I'm at an advantage there!!
Op hope you get an explanation for your worries.
