You poor thing ,I sympathise .
IMO it's normal to be scared but dentists are so good these days .
Keep reminding yourself that the very last thing they want to do is cause pain .
My only advice is ring up today ,the longer you leave it the more nervous you will become .

Can you take diazepam before you go? I used to be dreadful, but my dr prescribed this and along with it, recommended a lovely dentist. I went earlier this year and it was Fine. i just felt as though I'd had a beer or something.

I too am nervous but still go. My dentist gives me sedation. You are aware but don't care! I would recommend finding a dentist that can provide this service for you. Honestly, I am VERY phobic but leaving your broken tooth will lead to an abscess. I have has that too and it is very painful. If its any help, I am having a dental procedure this week. I'm anxious but the sedation does help.

It will be ok. I broke my tooth on a naan bread of all things and I was crying in terror at the thought of the dentist. I had it filed and filled which unfortunately didn't last for me as I broke more of the tooth off (pasta bake this time) grin
Things that help me - baby gel before injections, listening to an iPod, and a dentist that understands stop means stop now
I've gone from being scared of a check up to (eventually) having to have a tooth extracted which I did with no sedation - I didn't feel anything as totally numb, and I dealt wih noise by using the iPod

After 4 weeks of hellish illness (passed out in H+M, followed by heart problems and ataxia and been off work 3 weeks!) I have topped my day by breaking a tooth..on a bloody jacket potato!!

I am terrified of the dentist. I had Trigeminal Neuralgia a few years ago, lost two teeth before they realised what it was and am now severely phobic. Last dental treatment took 6 months to arrange so I could have sedation.

It's not hurting but it's jagged and tearing the skin of my tongue..and will need dealing with. But I'm so so scared.

Tell me I can do this...sad
