I've got a doctors appointment tomorrow and I'd think it would help me to know what sort of help I can expect. If anything at all.
I'm on day 16 of what I think is a really heavy period. It's been heavy since day 1 and shows no sign of letting up. I'm having to change a super plus tampon and an always maxi night towel every hour/hour and a half during the day, and about every 3 hours during the night. There's been some clotting - notably a whopper on Sunday which I could barely hold in my hands (v sorry for the vileness).
I do have a large intramural fibroid (about grapefruit size) which I'm used to, but I've never had a period like this before.
I was expecting a heavy period because my last cycle was a bit odd, with spotting when I expected a period and then nothing until this bleeding which has happened about when the following period was due (confused? I hope not). But I wasn't expecting anything like this. My vag is sore from too many tampons for too long.
I did get half a line on a hpt around the time of the spotting, but assumed it was a faulty test, so don't think that can have much to do with it.
Is there anything the doc can do to sort out this bleeding; I am struggling to keep up with normal life because of it.
