That's it really. Nothing is happening to it at all. The screen doesn't light up, it won't connect to iTunes when I plug it in to my laptop, my speakers don't recognise it, neither does my laptop. DD calls it "the white screen of death". It happened a couple of weeks ago but sorted itself out. Now, nothing. I can't reset it to factory because the computer doesn't register it.

Is there anything I can do or do I have to accept it's time for a new one?

Try pressing home and on off button together for 3 - 5 seconds.
