Now I know that David Cameron said too many twits make a twat grin but you may find if your thread title is a bit more, erm, helpful, that you may get more replies. I shall move this into geeky stuff for you.

What do you need to know? If you want to follow someone it's sometimes easier to google search someone, eg mumsnet twitter than use trotters search thing. You click follow or unfollow under their name. The people who you follows tweets appear on home page with a button underneath to reply.
