Cash for old mobiles - does it work? Any reliable recommendations??

That's it really. Found a few on Moneysavingexpert forums, but feedback not so good ie. slow to get money, you have to chase etc, so if anyone has successfully and unstressfully done this then please let me know which site you used.

TIA.

I tried one and it said they would take it free for recycling! I think it was Mazuma. Mind you, it was about 8 years old! From what my friends have said, it's only worth it if it's a fairly decent, recent model.

I have successfully recycled phones with fonebank.com. Never had any problems with them and payment is very quick.

If you go to carphonewarehouse.co.uk (or even pop into a store) they will tell you how much your phone is worth but as mentioned above, it has to be a recent (and desirable model). I got offered £58 for my HTC HD2 (£400 new two yrs ago). Price is guaranteed for 2 weeks. Small print says they will deduct postage (about £3)

I sent an old phone to Mazuma and got paid straight away (think I had bank transfer the day they received it). Didn't get much but was an ancient phone grin

They send you a prepaid envelope (think you could print a label but didn't have a working printer at the time)

I vote mazuma. They're good, used them before.
