I have a house in a very exposed coastal location on the west of Ireland. I only managed to get back 3-4 times a year and am looking to try and establish some sort of hedging to act as a windbreak. I have visons of retiring there and need to have some form of barrier against the wind before doing anything else with the ground. At the moment it is just a field but have thought about some form of willow hedge/fedge? Anyone have any ideas on whether this would work, if only to provide some form of windbreak before I get a proper hedge in? Many thanks for your help.
