Laying a patio in winter.

Is this a good idea? Does the fact the ground is frozen effect the outcome later on - would things shift etc?

We are extending our existing patio & the guy can come next week but now the weather has changed i'm not sure if this matters!? It will obviously be harder to dig but i'm assuming the concrete would behave in the same way..

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Not to worry remember BIL is an engineer smile

Was completely wrong cement doesn't like the cold apparently.
