Birth mum is not engaging and hasn't been since birth. SW's have kept delaying sorting out FC's passport. They have seen birth mum but have said timing was not right to ask?
We have been asking since September... Shock
Is there anything I can do as the SW really does not seem interested and I'm not sure if she knows what is needed as she came across as a little confused in the recent LAC review.
Baby is under section 20.

we desperately wabt this passport. If she doesn't get it none of us are going away in April Sad

Have you put it in writing? Do an email & copy in social workers manager & your link worker.

It may be because the child is under section 20 rather than 47 affecting the SW judgement ?

I phoned Durham passport office last night. Apparently our situation is very common. Unfortunately without a court order a passport will not be issued. He was very helpful. Glad he cleared things up for me. Thanks

We were in a very similar situation.. kids under S20 for 10 months and so SS not prepared to get passport... and to be honest, we didn't feel confident that although bp would agree to it in principle, could change their mind nearer to the holiday... kids finally under S47, SS applied for & got passports, only to have kids returned in super fast time to a parent and so we didn't have time to book & have hol!!!

It is so annoying and such a shame for the LO's - and your life being in 'limbo' too... x x
