I was asked if I would have contact in the home I said no way as I have a lot on being christmas and all ( they wanted a 5 hour contact) then it was suggested parent would pick up foster child and do something then come back so I could go out over a hour later no show.
I then rang sw to ask how long I should wait you know what she said the whole 5 hours just in case he turns up WTF I did point out the only reason I agreed to the contact is because I was assured it would not impact to much on my day.
Rang my support worker she said that was out of order and that parents should get half an hour grace and that I should ignore childs sw
Just really annoyed she even tried to get me to agree a contact on new years day cheeky moo

waiting for 5 hours!
Just goes to show how different lo social workers can be! Contact is cancelled if parents do not turn up 10 mins before contact begins for my lo (although there is a history of not turning up).
Have you had contact in your home before? I have never been asked to do this, and not sure how happy I would be with this arrangement (although I imagine it depends on individual circumstances).

I had an after-school contact cancelled as the parent had not phoned in to SS by 9.30am.

Well funny enough he came just as i was leaving I saw him running up the road I have however told my support worker their will be no more contact at my home my good will is spent
To be honest ever since the fc new social worker took over things have been brewing
I am not being kept in the loop then expected to just fall inti line with a few hours notice when we are supposed to be working together
Her and my support worker had a row yesterday which ended in them needed to come for a joint visit yesterday evening she mailed my support worker asking why I wouldn't do as i was told
Things got heated and my support worker told her that I do not work for them and her team, and if she tried asking and including me rather than barking orders she might get a better result.
Her emails are like so

( have name changed )
Unless she wants us to stand in the kitchen we only have 2 rooms down stairs [hmm) and I just find the tine rude and bossy
Fostering is collaborative something she has not learned
Sounds awful but I a, really looking forward to this child going soon just so I don't have to deal with the social worker.
