The most dangerous cake recipe!

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) a small splash of vanilla
extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix
thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate
chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts
(high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be
alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And
why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we
are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day
or night!

Plan to do this with DD over half term then it can be a 'virtuous, spending time cooking with children' cake too

DisasterArea · 13/02/2009 10:11

can i double it and use a really big mug?

Cloudspotter · 13/02/2009 10:12

What a brilliant idea. Thank you so much. My dd is really ill and I have been trying to come up with ideas to stimulate her appetite. I think her grumpy attention span may just last the 5 minutes that it will take to make this.

Oh wow a quick treat!!! Could I use gluten free flour.....will give it a go

ChasingSquirrels · 11/07/2009 22:26

In desparate need of chocolate, and remembering this and other threads I have just searched and made.
I did half quantities, a smallish egg and slightly less than half milk and oil (to make up for the extra egg).
It is slightly dry - so maybe 3 mins at 800W is too long for the lesser quantities, I will have to experiment.
But going down well!

Wow!

BigTech where did you get this recipe from? Agree it is dangerous to be so close to chocolate cake at any one time!
