Has anyone got any tried and tested filler suggestions for pitta bread please?
Must be suitable for use in packed lunches, ie something that can be put inside the pittas in the morning and not eaten until lunchtime.
TIA

I think I did grated carrot and cheese and spring opinion in one once which was yum...you might not be so popular at work if you put the onion in though...

I like hummus and thin sliced chorizo.
Ham or chicken with avocado and a tiny bit of mayonnaise.
Brie and sundried tomato.

Thanks, they all sound nice but unfortunately, I was not asking for me but for teenage dd who doesn't eat cheese.
It's a real struggle to think of any combos.

I don't eat cheese, either.
I make a gammon joint in the slow cooker, then blitz it in the food processor with celery and onion, salt and pepper. Mix with salad cream or mayo for a pitta filling, with salad leaves and sliced tom.
Peanut butter, sliced banana and raisins.
Sliced roast chicken with avocado and salad leaves or red onion.
Sundried tom and hummus
Olive tempanade or smoked aubergine tempanade.

DH likes chicken mayo & sweetcorn or with some chilli powder added to the mayo.
Salmon and cucumber
Tuna mayo
egg and cress
slices of sausage and tomato chutney
butter beans blitzed with garlic, onion and salad cream
Grated carrot and houmus.
It might be easier to take the pittas and then the filling in a pot and combine when ready to eat.
Falafel, salad, minty yoghurt
Hoummus and salad
When I ate fish I used to like tuna with lots of chopped lettuce and cucumber and red onion
Greek salad minus the feta but with extra olives

Bacon lettuce and creme fresh is good, but I've not taken it as a packed lunch.
What about a kebab type filling? Chicken tikka, lamb kebab ets.
