Main meal soups to put in packed lunches. To contain carbs, proteins and veg. Slow cooker friendly of course. Can freeze and re-heat and put in a thermos. I can only think of Scotch broth which sounds doable.
Does anyone have any ideas? With thanks.

Cheap of course. No lobster bisques or anything.

Try this site. Lists amount of carbs, protein cals and fats. Quiet a few that have everything you need. Although not sure about slow cooker as some are very quick.

Jamie Oliver does a leek and chickpea - How about chucking some chickpeas into leek and potato?

Lentil and veg and put some breadsticks to go with? My two have that a lot.
I made a lovely one this week- home made chicken stock, loads of diced vegetables and a tin of cannelloni beans.
With very finely shredded green chili for them as wanted. Yum.

Minestrone. Great. I can do that. Am aiming to do a big soup cook this weekend so there is plenty in the freezer for the cold.

Sweetcorn chowder sounds good. Can it be made with frozen sweetcorn? I always have that in the freezer.

Seeker, I know what you mean. You mean cannononitti beans.

I did a nice Jamie one the other day - chicken stock, bacon, angel hair pasta with a hard boiled egg chopped and chucked in with some chopped parsley. Tasted a bit like chicken supernoodles but with added protein.

Mmm. Just googled sweetcorn chowder. Looks very easy. I could practically knock that one in the morning.

Do a vegi soup and add rice or pasta when you put it in the flask - will be perfect by lunchtime.
Fish chowder. French onion soup with cheese on toast - not sure how you would transport this - maybe make the toast at work /where you are eating.
Pea and ham soup with a bread roll.
Potato and parsnip soup with bacon.

I do a spicy carrot and lentil soup. 1bag of carrots, peeled and chopped. 1-2 knorr stock cubes, chicken or veg. Handful of split red lentils. Boil/simmer until cooked. A few dried mixed chillis. my dc dont like spicy so just enough to give some warmth to the soup. Blend together with a handheld blender. Add a dash of cream or creme fraiche, stir in. Goes down a treat. I get requests from family to do it when they come to visit.
I also do a roast veg one, carrots, suede, onion and parsnip. Once roasted blend with veg stock. Only problem with this one is I haven't figured out how to stop it separating yet. If left for a bit the blended veg sinks to the bottom and the stock is left on top. It's ok, just needs a stir before serving.

Will be taking this thread when I Ho shopping. All the ideas with root veg seem particularly appealing right now. Thank you all.
I love Madhur's chicken mulligatawny. Only if you like spice though... a little fiddly but worth it, and cheap as it's mainly dried red split peas.
