I am thinking about trying this - can it be 'steamed' in a slow cooker or does it have to be done the traditional way - any ideas - fairly quickly please - I'm fancying some for tea!!

Sorry no-one replied in time, only logging on whilst dinner cooks.

I do sweet steamed puddings in slow cooker - takes about 3.5 hours. It says to use jam jar as a trivet but I use tea towel as it makes less noise :)

Yes it can and very nice it is too.

So if I follow the logic I could do the Christmas pud in the slow cooker.

Please say yes?

Yes :)

Disclaimer - I don't like Christmas pud so have never cooked it but its a steamed pudding so should work just like the others.

Another benefit is that the house isn't filled with steam for HOURS.
