Mirena Coil and pregnancy ...

I hope nobody minds, as this is kind of a thread about another thread (well 4 recent threads and I don't mean to insult or offend!)

I was wondering how many people have conceived whilst they have a Mirena Coil? I have seen 4 threads in the last week or so where the OP or someone on the thread has said they were using it and have still become pregnant - When I had mine inserted the woman who did it said she had never heard of someone becoming pregnant with one in (this was a question which I asked a few times as I got pregnant whilst taking the Pill) - This does not sound like it is the case at all - Is it common? Do you then have to have it removed and cross it off the list for future contraception?

I am just wondering/worried - Like I say I don't mean to pry I am just wondering if this is something that goes on a lot and doesn't often get mentioned - For example when my cousin got pregnant she had the implant in her arm, once she had told people it became clear that several of the women she knew had also had it and still become pregnant ...

I have heard of it, but not experienced it to the best of my knowledge

I have only conceived in the past on purpose, I would not trust any method that had failed me TBH.

I have just made a mental note - Maybe there has been a dodgy batch? Its just taken my attention but then again perhaps I didn't notice it before ha ha

Ha ha babies first piercing? It's very strange i suppose - although when I told my family about my pregnancy and they all asked if we had been using protection about 4 people suggested DH had "super sperm" :-\ I'm not sure whether it was a compliment or an insult ha ha

I havs DD2 on Marina and it was perfectly in place! Doctor didn't believe me when I came and said that I am feeling like I am pregnant but......she is 3 month old now! lol

I had the marina coil put in on 30th march 2012, then 3 weeks later I had a very bad bleed for 3 weeks during which one night i was in the worse pain ever (was rolling round on floor, etc) which continued but less painful for 2 days. I went back to doctors and said about it and he said "the coil could have come out, but as I was lookin well in myself he didnt think it had" he didnt check or anything so thought well all is fine then.

The this month I went on holiday and had abit too much fun and started spottin the day after, now my friend tells me she fell pregnant on coil......leaving me worried. I have tried checking for coil myself but cant find the strings, really worried as thought the coil was good but after reading these posts startin to think otherwise x
