Those of you on the pill, please tell me what you're on and why you like it :)

Haven't been on the pill for ages and ages (at least 10 yrs, probably more)

But really want a reliable conraception now. Did consider the snip for DP but neither of us are 100% we don't want another DC (we're about 95% sure we don't though Grin)

Do you mind telling me what you're taking or what you've taken and not got on with?

Would rather not put on weight and get balloon boobs if possible Wink

Thanks Smile

I'm on Yasmin, which is apparently for help with skin problems. I was initially on Microgynon (seemingly the bog standard generic prescription for all) but I found I had migraines, bad skin and weight gain. Been on Yasmin for 9 years and had no problems!

I do think it varies from woman to woman though, you might be best to try one on a 3 month prescription then consult your nurse/GP if there are any side effects you don't particularly like.

Thanks Smile

Am trying not to be too shallow about the weight gain thing, but this is the lightest I've been all my life and I am happy with that!

So would really like to avoid piling it on

I was on ovranette and I loved it, had no side effects but I changed to cilest for 6 months to clear up my skin and I have serious mood swings on it. I can't wait until Im back on ovranette next month

I'm on microgynon and have no problems with it. No weight gain or loss, came off it well to conceive DS and now back on it again. Works for me anyway :)

I found microgynon affected my mood (I was really moody) and caused an increase in my migraines. I take Yasmin now and have no problems.

I've been on cilest for years with absolutely no problems (no weight gain, mood swings etc) but GP has mentioned that she wants me to change to a progesterone only pill at 35 because I am in a high risk user group for problems and thinks it would be a good time to change.

I was on Yasmin when I fell pregnant with my eldest son. Had been taking it like clockwork (had alarm on phone to remind me to take it at same time every day for optimum impact - for the good it did me!! Lol), no sickness, didn't miss any and wasn't in any other meds.

I now steer clear of the pill as it obv. doesn't work for me!!!
