They don't normally wear uniform until they are invested at about 6 weeks. Gives them time to see if they like it.
Ask if they run second hand uniform to sell

People often sell used uniform on Ebay too. But it is not essential until she has decided she likes it and wants to attend.

Definitely wait until you know she wants to stay, the leaders wouldn't mind.

Oh right I see, thanks for the advice. Think I'm more nervous than she is. But she is excited! Growing up too quickly lol.

Don't wear uniform in our pack until after they have made their promise.

Ask Brown Owl if she has any old uniform in return for a donation to the pack funds? A lot of parents hand their uniform in when their girls go up to Guides.

Agree with other posters, don't buy until you know it's for her! Ask Brown Owl if you can buy second hand somewhere.

Our unit has a collection of donated old uniform so check with the leader? Also, we don't expect them to wear it for the first few weeks but they often get excited and start wearing it after a couple of weeks anyway!

As a brownie leader, I don't force anyone to have uniform. If they have been to rainbows, we ask them to wear their rainbow one until they decide if they like it.

I do have one where mum has asked numerous times where to get it but she still turns up like it's a fashion show!

Thanks for call advice everyone. I will have chat with brown owl on Tuesday as were going early to fill in paperwork etc. Just don't want dd feeling too much like odd one out. Pair of trainers, joggers and long sleeve T-shirt it is for now.
