Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a bike trailer for the school/nursery run.
I was looking at this Bellelli trailer in Halfords which looked quite durable and had some storage space for bags etc.
But, I'm puzzled by the weight limit - 25kg limit for 2 children seems very low, and when I've looked at comparable trailers on the internet they seem to have similar specifications but a much higher weight limit (and higher price!) Does anyone have one and know whether or not this weight limit is correct? I have a 4 year old & 1.5 year old.
Or any other trailer recommendations much appreciated...
Thanks
Hi
That does sound not much for the weight limit. I got my trailer from eBay and it takes up to 100lbs. I'm on my phone so cant do links but if you do a search for child bike trailer it's £65.99 and comes in blue or red, you should be able to find it.
We've had no problems with this, it gets used once or twice a week for the last couple of years and it's still in fairly good nick. What I would say is that it is hard going pulling two children in it, and I'm a fairly fit cyclist. My two are 2 years apart and I probably stopped taking them both in it regularly when they were 1.5 and 3.5. I still regularly take DD to nursery in it and it is a nice alternative to taking the car.

Lots of reviews here. I notice that the AT-2 is 10 quid more than the one you've found but can take 45kg. I've also come across one person (on a cycling forum) who raves about the AT-1, so that's promising.

Thanks that's really useful. I'm off to bed now, but will have a good read tomorrow! (Piff you've made me think I need to get a bit fitter... at least I live somewhere flat!)
Cakeaddict, yes I should have said I live at the top of a big hill, so the run down to nursery (or indeed anywhere) is lovely but coming back is murder. DS was onto his bike at 3 so by 3.5 he was cycling to nursery and I only had DD in the trailer.
One of my nursery parents used a tandem bike with a child seat on the back for similarly aged children. The 4y.o. Sat on the back seat but didn't pedal.

I have the Halfords folding double trailer which also has a max of 100lbs. Needed to be folding to store securely at home, though maybe harder to store securely elsewhere - you'd need to lock the wheels to the frame as they're easily detached. Been using it 2-3 times a week over the summer for a 17 mile round trip. I had an hour's training with Outspoken when I first got it, and the trainer said he thought it was one of the better ones, if that's any help.

Hi, I'm looking for a bike trailer to use daily for nursery runs, as I don't have a car. Prefer one that's sturdy, weatherproof and not too heavy, that seats two children from 6 months to 3 yrs.. so looking at the more expensive models. Does anyone have one I could buy secondhand?
