I teach this and am constantly being asked for recommendations for a book that has clear structures for story building and essay structuring. I haven't yet found one I really admire, so I'm thinking of writing one.

It would be a set of exercises that teaches the foundation blocks of creative and critical thinking and structuring, so the blocks can be tackled at different levels. The book would be as useful and applicable to a KS2 child learning to string ideas together as it would be to an A level student struggling to plan an essay.

Question is - would you want something like this for your children? Would you buy it?

Or do you know of one already that you think is brilliant and covers everything your children need to know?

Yes i would be interested in something like that. At the moment dc have lots of ideas but putting it all down in a logical format can be a challenge.

We dont use any book i give a rough guidance that says every story has an introduction/beginning, tnen the body i.e tne main crux of tne story, and a conclusion/end where the writer can not only tell what happened in the end but the writers own personal thoughts about the concluding end.

My guidance may not be accuarate, but it works at the moment, for their level.

Yeah me too! My DS struggles has brilliant ideas but struggles with the story plan. Good luck with it!!
