And how does it work? Would I have to get the seller to package it up for me?

Hey, try SHIPLY.COM we have used them a few times for ebay items we have won, brilliant site, where the couriers try and outbid each other for work so you will get the best price, try it we have been impressed many times!

Such a service doesn't exist. Even give most companies two post codes and they cannot give an exact price and then they only have one guy in the van and it'll be more if you need an extra pair of hands and even more if it is a full moon !

I don't think you can get the likes of UPS to collect furniture but there is always 'a man with a van' advertised on eBay smile there is a few dotted all over the country so it might be worth a try.

I contacted a man and van, quite near to an item I wanted to buy but I realised I would have to pay for the item without seeing it and have it collected without seeing it and then trust that someone I had never met would actually deliver it to me rather than just drive off into the sunset !

Thanks for all the info. DP is going to collect it this weekend now instead.
