I dont understand your answer Pan.
I presume mumsnet doesnt select them in some way to appear on MN?
Pan

Oh they do amillionyears. It's a way of silencing us. Yer matriarchy, innit?
Daddelion

Dadsnet doesn't get posted in very often, so it won't appear very often in active threads.

But the conspiracy theory sounds more fun, so yes that's the reason.
amillionyears
Thu 07-Feb-13 20:13:54
Daddelion, so all Dadsnet threads appear on MN?
Didnt realise that. How odd.
BIWI
Thu 07-Feb-13 20:16:19
Of course they do, amillionyears - they are threads/posts like any other thread/post on MN. If someone posts in there, it will appear in Active Convos. Why on earth would you think they wouldn't?
amillionyears
Thu 07-Feb-13 20:23:00
Because all Mumsnet posts dont appear in Dadsnet.
Or do they?
And Gransnet, do they all appear here as well?
And again, all Mumsnet dont appear in active convos on Gransnet.
or do they.
Now I am much confused.

Dadsnet is just like any other topic, amillionyears. If you post in a thread that is under the 'topic' Dadsnet, it appears in Active Convos, like it would in Chat or AIBU. The name suggests that it's somehow separate, but it just another topic.
Just not a v active one....
is that clearer?

Amillion, Dadsnet is just a section like Chat or Recipes.
Gransnet is a separate site.

There's a Mumsnet? Where?
We're not allowed out of here often.

Gransnet is a completely separate site. Dadsnet is a board within Mumsnet.

Thu 07-Feb-13 20:30:44
Nooo, Gransnet is another 'topic' on MN. Shorely? <feels frail grasp of sanity slipping a little more>

Gransnet is a completely separate site. Dadsnet is a board within Mumsnet.
(Although what makes it confusing is that there is also a Gransnet board within Mumsnet!)

I learn something new every day!
<wonders why Dadsnet is just a section, but Granset isnt>
Also, when I went over to Dadsnet today, there were some sports topics.
Cant say I have ever seen them appear in Active Convos. Maybe I go round with my eyes a bit shut.

Sorry Pan! Your sanity is safe.

BIWI, you have lost me completely now!

Alphabetically, Gransnet as a topic appears just after GoodHouse keeping.....which brings us nicely back to housework...
BIWI
Thu 07-Feb-13 20:34:45
There is a separate board called Gransnet, which (along with Dadsnet) is in 'In The Club' - if you look at All Topics.
Then there's Gransnet which is a separate site, also run by Mumsnet.

'Shorely' Pan?
You're losing it.

oh I was unaware of Gransnet, as opposed to Gransnet. Chrystal clear.

I think that is clearer BIWI. Thanks. <will take the evening to further think>
