I just need to know if my washing machine is worth keeping.
It gets to the end of a cycle, but, doesn't like spinning, and just repeatedly drains.
It manage one short spin after I had set it to do that, but then once it had spun, it went back to draining again.
Any ideas about what is causing it, and if the blasted thing is worth keeping.
Thanks

Have you checked the filter?

mine did this and it was the filter. mine is right at the bottom of the washer behind a panel.if you remove it place a towel on the floor before hand as mine gushed a load of v smelly water.

If electromechanical then it could be a physical defect which skips the spin. A new unit would perhaps be necessary.
If electronic, then unlikely to be software related and far more likely to be a physical jam as described in previous posts.
Will it go through the spin cycle when only that is selected ?
Could also be an unstable load or too heavy (when waterlogged) to spin - aka duvets etc.
A call out engineer is likely to be around £60 plus any parts. If the machine is old and was not an expensive model, I'd be sorely tempted to just buy a new one and get a guarantee.
