Basically, I had a mc 5 weeks ago (25th May). Stopped bleeding after 1 week, a week after bleeding stopped dp and I started BDing as doctor said it was safe. Went completely back to normal ie: no more pg symptoms.

Then two weeks ago had some brown spotting so I was expecting AF to come not too long after that, but had nothing since.

Since then, all my pregnancy sypmtoms seemed to have come back, feeling knackered all the time, weeing alot, stomach is bloated again (my stomach went flat a few days after mc) and since this weekend just gone my boobs are heavy and a bit tender.

Not sure why but just out of curiosty, last night I thought I'd do a pregnancy test just to see what it would say...it was positive.

Now I understand that HCG hormone can stick around in your system for quite some time after you have had a mc, but what I did notice is that the line was very strong and came up straight away, whereas when I was actually pregnant it was a very faint line and took a while to show up (the man in the Chemist actually told me I was not pregnant then made me do another one and said "oh yes, you are sorry) So just to be sure I did one this morning, and it was the same.

Now as I am typing this, given the evidence, its looks like I could be pregnant again, but as my MC was not that long ago could it be possible that this is still the remaing effects of my previous pregnancy?

I dont want to get my hopes up...but wanted some reassurance from some MNers that have been though this or know someone who has been through this kind of situation.

the hormones don't hang around for 5 weeks post mc. congrats! do another test in a week if you're still not sure

Heya, after my first mc, i did a test 6 weeks after,and it said positive-but i wasnt! BUT because you have just had some spotting recently,it seems likely that you are preg again! Congrats! I would re-test in a week,but seems likely! Keep us posted!

I miscarried at what would have been 7 weeks.

I was kinda hoping that someone would say that cause its all pointing in that direction, but you just never know do you?

The spotting thing is what swayed it for me, because when I was pregnant last time, I never had any spotting what-so-ever.

Still not gonna get my hopes up but am just relaxing and taking it easy.

I am gonna try and give the EPAU a call for some advice as they said I should call them should I need anything, but as I am at work its a bit tricky to get a quiet moment for myself and I dont want no one here to know anything.

I would ring the epu.I really hope it is a pg,and from the sound of a strong line coming up that long after mc it sounds promising.I was still showing + a month after an erpc for mmc and that was actually because I needed the erpc done again (which was shite)

BUT the + was really faint,and I was 12 weeks,and didn't mc naturally.think the strength of the line is bigger sign than spotting...

So sounds possible and promising-fingers crossed for you.

Just spoke to EPAU...the nurse said it is possible but do another test in a couple of weeks time and if still positive then go to my GP. Which I was gonna do anyway but just needed the re-assurance.

I'll try and leave it til the end of the month rather than just two weeks if I can, but Im not gonna kid myself, if I cant wait I probably will do a couple more tests in 2 weeks exactly and I'll just have to see...

Thank you for your advice guys...just needed to know that its not all in my head.

Well, small update:

Been feeling REALLY sick this week, not actually been sick but feel like I will and feel dreadful and weak.

Went to the GP and he thinks Im possibly pregnant, but wait 2 weeks to do another test (2 more weeks!!) so gonna test next week and see what it says...he signed me off for a week bless him!

So yeah fun fun fun. Starting to think its all in my head again now though, even though all the "symptoms" are rearing their ugly heads, mainly I feel like my tits are on fire!
