I am on the implanon implant and taking citalopram, but i want to know if you can get pregnant .... reason why i ask is because i have had my 2nd implant in and there is only two months left till it comes out but recently ive started to get my periods ( ive been on citalopram for 2 months now) and i have never had periods whilst being on the implant so i am woundering wether you can get pregnant whilst taking these tablets. please let me no asap. i hope you can :D x

Citalopram can occassionally cause heavy periods so that maybe why you are now getting periods when you didn't before. I can't see anything in the product info which would indicate any sort of interaction making the implant less effective but if you are unsure then make an appointment to discuss it with your doctor.

Hi does anyone know if its poss to get pregnant whilst having had the implant? ive had it for nearly 3 years its due out next month , but last couple weeks iv put on weight, been sick, peeing constantly, and ive been so so tired. I know some people have had the same problems but its really scary as i already have 2 kids and didnt intend on anymore ...someone pls help!!!!! xxx

shilly it is a reliable form of contraception but nothing is 100%. Poas. It's the only way to know.
char it's not coward what the effect of citalopram is on a foetus do they wouldn't recommend it while pregnant. It shouldn't affect your fertility either way. I agree if the bleeding is unusual and you have any concerns, ask your GP for advice.

I had implanon with citalopram for over a year together and don't believe there to be any risk of pregnancy.
