That got your attention didn't it?

I have been reading some stuff about sore boobs and whether there is any difference between pre-period and pregnancy. I have seen in some places that if you have soreness between ovulation and when your period is due, there is no chance of pregnancy, whereas pregnancy soreness only starts when you are already late. Can anyone shed any light on this? I would like to know that it is total bollocks ideally!

I also saw something interesting about the location of pain - on the sides means it's a good sign ovulation has occurred and the pain us caused by progesterone, and on the tops/nipples if you are still oestrogen dominant and you have had an annovulatory (sp?) cycle.

Last time I got pregnant I had sore boobs right from when I ovulated.

hairylights · 08/02/2011 21:07

And I ovulate every month and only get sore nipples , not boobs, when I ovulate.

So yes, it's bollocks Grin

Good to know. Thank you!

Though on the minus side it naively disturbs me the number of websites which peddle fertility "facts" Hmm

Hmmm. I got sore boobs later than I usually would have but way before I was due. I usually got them the day after ov but this time it was about a week before.
How are your nips? Mine were electric.
V helpful, aren't I?

Ariesgirl · 08/02/2011 22:00

Electric nips Milano? Shall I try and light a bulb?

I get sore boobs earlier than normal PMT boobs when I am pregnant. Helpful? Hmm

Weird taste in mouth is the dead giveaway though for me.

That is interesting margaret. Do you mean on the left boob or on the left or outside of both?

The consensus seems to be anything goes then?

I can't really help as I never really noticed PMT boobs and only got electric nips after I got my BFP, post being due on.

But yeah, just thought I'd post BOOBS and bump your thread.

Ivegotmrbitey · 09/02/2011 13:44

I think my preggo sore boobs and PMT sore boobs feel exactly the same. Second the electric nips comment too.

laurielou · 09/02/2011 13:57

I can't honestly say I noticed any difference to PMT sore boobs v early diff sore boobs. Sorry. Though I'm one of the lucky ones who have never suffered from really sore boobs either way. Annoyingly I found many of the PMT sypmtoms were exactly the same as early diff symptoms. Enough to drive you insane.

Also, don't forget poking your boobs to try & test pain just makes them hurty anyway - leave 'em alone!

BlooferLady · 09/02/2011 14:43

I have now stopped having sore tits either at ovulation or with PMT. I can only conclude that my body has packed up completely and I am turning into a plump bloke. To that extent I am jealous of your sore nips, whatever stage of the cycle they occur...

HighPriestessBoo · 09/02/2011 16:26

I don't get sore boobs much either Booberlady

Medee · 09/02/2011 19:00

My boobs didn't go sore pre-period, and nor did they get sore in early pregnancy. So, not sure if that helps in anyway!

twizzlestix · 09/02/2011 19:08

I had absolutely no pain this month (got AF as usual) but have had previous months where I've been unable to move arms properly or sleep without bra and AF still arrived! Sorry not v helpful I know I think it is down to the individual pair so to speak.

kat2504 · 09/02/2011 21:53

When i got diffed the boobs were much more painful, a few days before period due. Normally just a bit achey, but at that time it hurt to drive over speed humps and I couldn't lie on them in bed.
Having said that, pre-droidal boobs vary from month to month but were never ever quite as hurty as the diffed time.

Ariesgirl · 09/02/2011 21:58

I am in a SPORTS BRA

Aries thanks for thread cos I was wondering the same thing after reading that if the outer edges of your boobs hurt thats a good sign & nips hurt thats a bad sign but the outside of my boobs hurt most months - I have PCOS so therefore never know if I ovulate!!!!
