How long after OV does your EWCM stop?

Thanks to a dodgy thermometer I don't know when I OV-ed this month.

I was just wondering if there is a usual time after OV for your CM to get less egg-whitey and more creamy (sorry if TMI!).

I had EWCM for 8 days.

Thanks!

I don't know and I've got a question on EWCM too! Nobody answered me either.

I did read something (online) today that it can be up to 4 days PO.

My question is what it means (if anything) when you have lots more than normal? I mean, like double the amount!

Sorry I can't help you buttonmoon (hello again and thanks for making me hum the tune again Grin!)

This is my first month TTC post pill so only learning about EWCM now.

Just out of interest - and sorry if this is a really personal and gross question but - is your EWCM readily seen or do you have to find it IYSWIM?!?! Sorry, didn't want to be too graphic there!

Grin - nobody else seems to remember the prog!

I can't imagine having this conversation with my BF in real life! Thank goodness tinternet is anonymous!

Mine is always readily visible - in pants, on loo paper etc. I've never had to go looking before. This month it's all gone a bit ott tho.

Am secretly worried it could be that I've produced 2 eggs. I'm ttc #4 and don't really want 4&5 but it's a bit late now as been SWI all w/e! I'm hoping that I'm completely off on that as I've been googling all morning with no stories of double egg release=lots more EWCM!

I'm not sure it sounds that logical IMO - mainly because EWCM is just mucus produced to "house" sperm and it seperate to actual egg release right?!? I honestly have no clue but my first thoughts are that it isn't the case.

Mine is not visible so I have to check - I am learning interesting stuff about my cerix too Grin Hmm!

How can they not rememeber Button Moon, and Mr Spoon?? TBH - thats the only line I remember!!

I know what you're saying is logical. I never said that I was afraid of something logical did I?!

I take it this in #1 for you? You'll learn lots more interesting things along the way, believe me! At some point it'd be worth packing your dignity away with your summer clothes. You can unpack and give it a shake down in a year (or several...)! Grin

Ha ha - I want it to be known that my logical thoughts were a massive asumption - if you get pregnant with 2 (or 3 or 4) Grin - don't blame me!! Wink

This would actually be #2 - but never TTC-ed before. DS was an "accident". DH thinks, as it happened so easily once then it will again. But I am a planner and want a summer baby (already have a winter one!) Grin

Dignity gone a long time ago, along with the ability to wear a bikini. Sad

Oh, just tuck your tummy into your bikini bottoms and get on with it! It all looks ok when you lie down anyway. Although ds (3) wobbled my faux-flat tummy this year on hols!! Blush

Am feeling slightly reassured now, having done a lot of research. Was just slightly freaked out by some of the risk factors - in your 30s, previous pgs (4) etc etc.

If you take your 8 days as your ovulation time, when will you be due? I'm hoping for due end June. Though will probably end up being induced at 38 wks which means it could end up sharing a birthday with 2 other family members!

buttonmoon78 · 11/10/2010 12:31

Oh no, just checked. Our hosp does planned inductions on a Thurs. Shame - 3 generations on the same day would have been lovely!

TerrysNo2 · 11/10/2010 12:46

Oh, I'm not sure about when I'd be due - last week in June I guess, but not really thinking about it much as think I have messed up my chances this month. Have no reliable data to go on - temps messed up and negative OPK's - so may not have even OV-ed. Plus we didn't SWI that much (because I thought I wasn't OV-ing).

Would be lovely though. Keep having "symptoms" and thinking hopefully!

Will be excited to hear your news. If this is your #4 sounds like you have a good breeding ground in there!! Grin

Oh yeah - mega fertile! But we'll have to wait and see what this time brings.

I must admit, I'm not sure what'll happen this time as not only was there lots, but it was a week after I was expecting it too. I was on antibiotics last w/e so maybe the infection delayed OV. I've heard that can happen.

We'll see. I bought some tests to do this coming w/e but I think what with EWCM appearing late I'd better leave it until the w/e after. Sad Am so impatient generally so this will just kill me!

BTW, it's nice to be able to say these things. Sometimes I feel the conception board is just for those having trouble ttc rather than people like me. I'm aware that to some people anything I write will appear inappropriate and smug.

Thats ok - I think its important to say whats affecting you in life as everyone's situation is different. I do find MN a judgemental place sometimes, but thankfully most people are just lovely!

Have you conceived at the first attempt each time??

BTW - we must be chatty today as our thread is on the "most active" and I'm at work Blush

PS - Impatience is my middle name

Is it really!! I'm meant to be ironing. And there's no way you can disguise MNing as ironing!!

Two were accidental - was on the pill for both, nothing missed, no medication etc. Just one (or even two) of those things. DC2 was planned and conceived first time.

So you see what I mean about being mega fertile! Of course, DH takes all the credit for himself... Hmm

I've never been on a 'most active' thread!

Wow - you must be MEGA fertile! I'm sure you'll be on the June bus then. I am not sure at all - don't really feel PG and as I said our SWI-ing got messed up this month. But alas, July is a good month!

July is a lovely month. Let's face it, whenever it's born is lovely!

Right. Am over and outing. This ironing pile is growing every time I turn my back!

Good luck. I shall keep my eye's open for you and hope for some successful SWI next month. Don't forget to keep practising! Wink

I don't know if it is too late to answer you, but :

cm dries up almost immediately after ov, but it is generally considered to be a sign that ov has occured only after 3 or 4 days of non-fertile cm. I hope this helps.

as for the quantity question, I don't think it says anything in particular as far as I know.

You were both certainly chatty earlier!!! Grin

Sorry for being dim galwaygal but does that mean I OV-ed on last day of EWCM?

OP posts:
Report
galwaygal · 12/10/2010 10:24

Terrys - yep! This is the way natural fertility planning is done. My temp rises occur the day following last ewcm, so ov day considered the last day of EWCM, however I have on occasions seen an Ovulation dip in my temps the following day, so it has occasionally put my ov day as the day after the last ewcm. But generally ov day is the last day of ewcm or the day after. Do you know how long your LP is? Anyway, I hope this helps!

I only had it once and I must be honest and say it suprised me as I had loads! As in I think I could have filled a few eggcups over about a 5 hour periodwhich baffled me. I came on MN and someone said that it can be a good sign of fertility.

Well the tale for me ends in me having my BFP 2 weeks later Grin
