Spotting on Clomid?

Hi

I'm on CD8 out of a usual 27 day cycle.

This is my second month taking Clomid. The first month I took 50mg, but my progesterone level test came back at 19 (low) so the consultant upped my dose to 100mg which I look CD2-6.

Now I've got some red spotting. This hasn't been mentioned as a side effect.

Can anyone tell me what might be going on inside?

hmm, it's not stopping. I'd go as far to say it's bleeding now rather than just spotting. (Dont know if sex last night could have started it up again)

Poor thing - worrying when you're on drugs and don't know what they're doing to you. Surprised no one is replying here - have you asked on one of the clomid threads? Or can you speak to your doc?

Gonna call the consulant I think. Although he already seems to think I'm being a pest.

Best plan, I reckon. If you can get hold of him! If it's a side effect, it should be listed somewhere. He would be able to easily reassure you if it is. I think it's better for him to not brush you aside - you do tend to get better treatment if you're pro active. Good luck, let me know how it goes. x

Brassica I realise I'm about a month late to add to this thread, but I'm currently having the same predicament, only midway through my first cycle of clomid. I know I ovulated as the scan showed the follicle had disappeared and I had positive OPKs at the time I'd expect. At first it was just pinkish cm, which made me feel hopeful about it being an ovulation bleed, but I've just had a bright red bleed. It stopped as soon as it came, but it's very disconcerting. Did you ever speak to your consultant and find out what might be the cause?

Sorry broken I can be of no help here . It turned out that I was pg. I had a "period" and started taking the clomid. The bleeding at CD8 that carried on slowly for 10 days was MC.

When I did speak to the consultant though, before I know about pg/mc all he said was "the body is a funny thing sometimes" I hope your chap is more helpful!!

What CD are you on? Could it be an implantation bleed?!

Bugger. I'm really sorry to hear that. Ugh, this is an emotional road, isn't it? I hope you are as okay as you can be.

I'm on day 21, but there's no chance I'm pg. According to the scan I had yesterday, I'd only just ovulated...yesterday! This is quite normal for me, but the bleeding most definitely isn't. I am so confused. I can't imagine a chemical pg could happen this early surely??! It wouldn't have chance to implant for another few days at least.

I'm also having lots of cramps, which feel like a period but the bleeding seems to stop until I go to the toilet. Were you actually pg during the apparent period on which you took the clomid then? I am now a bit worried this is something more sinister.

Thanks for replying anyway. I guess I'll just have to ring my consultant in the morning if it keeps going. It's hard to even know what's a period and what isn't with my messed up cycles.

Hi ladies, this is my first time posting but I’m going out of my Mind and I need advice!! So... I was put on clomid I did four Rounds of 50mg in total. On The 3rd round I was sent for a Hsg test as I hadn’t conceived on the first 2 rounds despite 72.6 progesterone on cd21 proving ovulation. By time I had my gynaecologist appointment I had started my 4th round of clomid then got the results back from the gynaecologist, which showed that I have one blocked Fallopian tube on the right side, But my left tube filled and spilled so no problems with the left one.
They said they was going to send me to have a laparoscopy to open my right tube to improve my chances of conceiving and said I shouldn't start the 5th Round of clomid as I can only be given so many rounds so best to wait until after the surgery. But they said I could still try to conceive myself as I still have one tube.
I would normally take my clomid on the 2nd day of my period, and I have a regular 28- 30 day cycle and never miss a period.

So I ovulated on cd17 confirmed by clear blue ovulation test and me and my hubby did the deed every other day as it was our last chance to try with the 4th round of clomid in my system before the surgery. on the day my period was due I started spotting as usual so just figured I had come on. only instead of getting heavier like usual it remained very light and only noticeable when I wiped. It stopped and started over a 5 day period. Some days slightly heavier when I was working but still not enough for a pad, no staining in my underwear and only noticeable when wiping.

After the 5 days it stopped completely, and I got lots of milky sometimes clear discharge (sorry tmi) I done several tests from clear blue digital to first responce all bfn but still no period! So I just figured it was probably implantation and I was too early for a bfp

5 days later after doing the deed again the spotting has started again. On and off light most of the time and heavier when I’m more active at times but still only noticeable when wiping and not enough to wear a pad.
The spotting ranges from brown to reddish brown. I have had some red but mainly a pinky red and very small specs Mild cramping here and there but nothing I would be concerned with. I have had a miscarriage before and it doesn’t feel like one to me but I could be wrong.

If I am pregnant I would be 6 weeks yesterday but I did another test this morning and I got another bfn!!
When I was pregnant with my daughter 18 years ago, I was 18 days late before I got a BFP but I didn’t have any spotting at all, so this is a new one to me, and is driving me crazy thinking all sorts Lol I just don’t know what to think.
My boobs are sore and have been since the day I was due on my period so around 2 weeks now and I’m waking up In the night to urinate which is also unusual for me as normally I don’t wake up for nothing ha ha
I do feel pregnant but then I’m thinking, but What if I’m not it drives you nuts lol

Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

just add I did visit my gp who was next to useless and told me they dont really deal with fertility and i should wait to see if I have a period and go to see my gynaecologist. I managed to book a appointment to see him but I haven’t got a appointment until the 11th July

I have had my first round of clomid however I have started spotting a week before my period is due the first wipe was red then it’s been brown for 2 days is this normal?

I know it’s been a while since your post but did you continue taking Clomid after the spotting?
