Mumsnet TV

Tip of the day

Never ask a child IF they need the loo... moodlum

Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

did they namechange to enter the comp?

i dont recognise the names!

wish it was me though sad i nver win anything [feeling sorry for myself]
Gobbledigook - I know what you mean about it being a bit weird hmm

The thing I don't understand is why the winners would agree to being identified by their real nicknames either?

Surely once the media activity starts it would be very easy for anyone to look at the threads on here and match them up with the people in the articles/ web etc??
Presumably it's going to say, "X from Leeds is 37, and mum of three kids etc etc"

After all the Cod stuff I think I'd be a little more cautious??

So fess up - how many of us put they wanted to ''wake up and smell the coffee'' grin
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 20-Oct-08 08:39:03
yes - it would have been inspiring.
Actually I did write a couple of paltry sentences but they were predictable twaddle so shouldn't really count.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 20-Oct-08 00:36:56
Cotcs - you'd have thought that they'd at least have had the decency to ring you to find out what you would have written, had you remembered to write something. Very poor show!
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 20-Oct-08 00:24:06
I wrote sod all and wasn't interviewed! Duh!
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 20-Oct-08 00:22:21
Just out of interest...what did the interviwees write in their 50 words??? Thought I had it in the bag!
Me grin
So how many have admitted to being inteviewed so far? 3? Come on there must be more...
I'm not saying much either. They flew me from Scotland so it was pretty cool. I met the PR girls for coffee and a nice chat. They said they had met quite a few mums and we would find out by the end of the week.

I'm on edge now...just waiting!

Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 06-Oct-08 13:45:17

Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 06-Oct-08 13:36:23
I said I'd consider it if they told me who else was going before I said yes.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 06-Oct-08 13:32:41
i think my phone may be broken
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 06-Oct-08 13:17:27
well they asked me who else i would like to come.
I had to say no to them as I've promised DD I won't leave her (her Daddy's been away on business a lot lately).

They cried.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 06-Oct-08 13:06:25
Yes - I spoke to them last week, but think something must have put them off, as they didn't really ask me much really hmm

<sob>

(not my usual name btw....)
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 06-Oct-08 13:05:54

How many people did they contact then?
<<Bar stewards>>
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 06-Oct-08 13:02:22
I'm no longer available on the last weekend so I had to say that if I got through I couldn't go, sob. they did say that they would be keeping the details of mumsnetters for future things though.
I spoke to them again this morning, I think they're a bit lukewarm about me as I'm a journalist...hmm
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 06-Oct-08 12:54:27

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
