reaction after jab

DD had pre school boosters yesterday. On the arm that the DTaP/IPV went in (the other arm was MMR)it is swollen, red, very hot and feels hard. When you compare her arms you can see its gone bigger than the other one. The affected area goes from half way up her bicep to the very top of her arm (a good 3-4 inch circle). Is this normal? Does it need to be looked at? It just seems quite fierce at the mo...

ds had this spoke to h/v and was told pretty normal but to ring back if concerned. wasnt his mmr booster though, as he had that under the hospital at a different time.

Its gone a bit weepy/scabby overnight, any suggestions?

Might have local infection (some other bacteria got in there with the needle).
Have U tried topical disinfectant (TCP or Savlon)?
If she develops a fever I would take her to a walk-in centre or similar.

Like most things if you wait it sorts its self out....much cooler today!
