Hello, DD has come home from CM's today with a sticky eye. SHe has had it a few times in past and applying breast milk cleared it up very quickly - not an option now though as I have stopped bfing her. Anything else I can try? TIA

Try saline solution

Thanks ... is that just salt and water? What proportions?

I've always used Brolene drops, getting them in ds' eyes... now that's a different matter!

oh - saline. A tumbler of warm water and put in about 1/4 (or less) of a teaspoon. Taset it to make sure that it isn't too salty (as it is going into the eye). Let it cool before applying with a piece of cotton wool. If the white of the eye is reddish then go to the doctor or take her along to the pharmacist for drops.

Thanks, will try this. The eye doesn't look red or sore, it's just the discharge so hopefully the saline will clear it up
