Two days ago i sat my dd,6mo,on the baby rocker, did not fasten her stright away and went to the kitchen for three seconds literally!!!she somehow managed to lean forward so unfortunately that she fell off it.I don't think she's done any harm to herself even though the floor is wooden she looked a bit shocked and kind of surprised, didn't cry much but from then on i feel guilty I can't stop thinking about it!!!I need reassurance. Please tell me i am being silly here

They are always one step ahead of us aren't they?
If you mean a baby bouncer seat type thing it may be time to stop using it. Once they can sit up they can lean forward and tip themselves over, as you have discovered!
Sit her on the floor surrounded by cushions or get a bouncer thing to hang in a doorway.

I dropped dd a couple of times only a few inches, but I felt awful, I also dropped a glass bottle of shampoo on her while trying to open it with my mouth while bathing her when she was about 3mo, she cried but I think mainly because I did! Dh had to take over the bath.

Now she regularly falling over, banging her head, she tripped and head butted the door fame with some force on christmas day. She's fine, they are very resilient babies.

I agree time to ditch the bouncy chair

don't even give it another thought!

I dropped ds when he was 2 days old head first toward the bath but I caught him by the ankle! (I cried but he was fine)
He was an early roller and he rolled off our bed (twice) onto laminate floor at about 4mths. He was fine.
And finally, when he was 21mths I sat on him accidentally and broke his arm. (I was trying to sit on sofa to feed dd1 and he ran round behind me and climbed up). I then had to tell everyone who said, 'Oh he's got a plaster on his arm, what happened'

Anyway, there have not been so many incidents with the dds! Although the other day DH told me he put dd2 in the bumbo on the kitchen table and turned away for a few seconds, when he turned back she was rolling around on the table luckily she hadn't fallen off!

I fear that I sound like a terrible mum (I'm really not) but at least you must feel better cos you haven't been as bad as me

Also my friend said her middle dd did the same as yours except she had put the bouncer on the table so her dd was on the floor when she came through! She had bounced right out and she was fine too!

My DD fell off our bed when she was about 2 months old. Believe it or not - she managed to roll over at 2 months. Couldn't believe it and I was so shocked. I cried for ages and really panicked. DH had to come and sort us both out. I had only put her on there for 2 mins while I got dressed

Going to GP slipped trough my mind,too..Thank you all for reassurance.I thought this "furniture" will last for longer but seems like I can not keep up with my dd's needs...

Yes, callmemamma, DD was standing and cruising fully by 6 months. BUT all this early start didn't make a difference as she has just turned one and still isn't walking on her own, so it shows that every baby is so different but it weighs itself out in the end.

a baby at the toddler group we go to walked at 6 months, pulled up and cruised at 5 months, sat at 4 months, crawled at 3 months, and rolled over at 2 days old!! 2 of my other friends have had babies who have rolled from birth but they seemed to think 2 of them did it cos they were in so much pain from colic

you're not a proper mother until you've dropped them at least once!!

if there was anything wrong, you'd know. Babies do NOT usffer in silence!

Bouncing babies!

I found mine sort of bent in 2 with head on the floor and legs still wedged in bouncy chair at 6 weeks.

Oh and she ate 3 rusty screws at about a year - took her to A and E and they put a metal detector over her tummy. The look of indignation on her face will be with me forever.

Trouble with the milestones is that you aren't always going to be there for the firsts, hence rolling, bending forward, standing are all safe until we introduce bouncers, big toys in cots that act as steps over the side, cot bumpers that act as hats made from duvets for wriggly babies etc etc. A baby may have been rolling a while before they put a show on for us!
