My 8 week old DS had his first jabs yesterday and since has not been his usual self. He was up 4 times in the night crying. He seems hot, he's only taking 2oz of milk instead of 4 oz and he's still crying and whimpering a lot.
The Health visitor said he might be out of sorts afterwards and to give him Calpol. I've tried giving him Calpol but he keeps spitting it out of his mouth, he won't swallow it.
Is this a normal reaction? I am half tempted to take him to the hospital, but then he was fine until he had the jabs so I am presuming they are responsible. Did anyone else have a similar thing? I am worried sick.

Yes, dd1 was rotten after her first jabs, she was not too bad after her second and third batch. Getting calpol down a tiny baby is also incredibly difficult, (it gets easier).

If you are worried, then take your baby to the GP this afternoon. I would not go to the hospital (unless you cannot get a GP appointment, be insistent when you phone). Waiting times in A&E are often horrific.

You can get a syringe to squirt the calpol into your baby's mouth instread of using a spoon. I got one from teh doctor, but you might get one at a pharmacy too.
