smell like cobblers?
ITs really odd but distinctive and its a good indicator to me if they're going down with something.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes, my kids reek when they are ill. I feel like bear in the big blue house, sniffing them and then announcing they have a bug. I'm like those dogs that can smell cancer.

wilbur · 07/11/2008 11:03

Sorry, I see you asked why they smell. I have no idea - toxins coming out? Bacteria building up in airways?

SamJones · 07/11/2008 14:28

Not sure what cobblers smell like - do you mean the shoe people or the pudding?

Dttoydto · 07/11/2008 14:29

ds2's like this - gets really whiffy when he's getting poorly.

psychomum5 · 07/11/2008 14:33

all mine get a 'poorly' smell too.

tis a build up of ketones apparently, according to my paed when I asked years ago. most peoples appetites go down a little when they are sickening for something, which has the knock-on effect of the smell.

mrsmaidamess · 07/11/2008 14:33

My kids smell of mothballs when they are really poorly.

SoMuchToBits · 07/11/2008 14:37

My ds definitely smells different when he is ill too.

I meant the shoe people. I could only assume there was a chemical in common. I cant think what mothballs smell like but it may be a similar chemical.
Oddly dd doesnt smell of cobblers
