Help! Can toddlers get acne??

DS had a cold start just before Christmas and then developed acne-like spots on his cheeks and a couple on the backs of his hands. The cold cleared up and so the spots started to clear, but not completely, then a week ago, he got another cold and the spots are all back with a vengence.

People keep asking if he has chicken pox but he had that 18 months ago. These spots are literally just on his face, and he is not scratching them. He refuses to let me wipe his nose though and is constantly doing it on the back of his hand/sleeve.

He's going to the doc's this afternoon, but from a brief internet search, it sounds like this isn't uncommon but lots of people get fobbed off by their GPs.

Has anyone else's toddler had this? Do you recommend anything?

Could it be shingles? Getting it on the face only certainly happens.

No, its both sides. I believe shingles is normally one sided.

He's got some flucloxacillin. The doctor thinks its impetigo.
