Olive oil for dry skin?!?

Hi there, my 7wk old has very dry skin on his forehead and scalp and have read that olive oil is something I can put on it. Just wondered if anyone can tell me when to put it on and how long for? Did you brush their hair afterwards to get the flakes out?

Also is there anything else anyone can suggest to help with the skin? I am worried it is the start of cradle cap or maybe my LO has inherited my eczema.

Thanks for suggestions in advance!

Cradle cap is nothing to worry about. Most babies get it and it can last into the toddler years. My 4 year old still has a little sometimes.

Olive oil is great...I used it with both my dds.

A tip is not to use any soaps on him...even organic baby ones aren't needed. He's very small and they don't sweat.

Dont wash his hair every time you bathe him...and dont bathe too often. You can "refresh" him by wiping his head with a clean damp flannel dipped in tepid water.

smooth some Olive oil on his head every other day....just a little...less than a teaspoon.

That's it. He'll be fine...they're all a bit crusty at first. Smile
