I'm a bit worried. He's 15 months and he's been walking fine for about 6 weeks. This morning he could hardly walk more than 2 steps without falling over. Has anyone had this happen with their baby?
I guess it could be something minor like an ear infection that hasn't become painful but I'm a little worried it's more serious. Can any mums put my mind at ease? NHS Direct are only taking emergency calls at the mo.

It could be ears or it could simply be that he was a little more tired than normal today. It could be that he was getting a bit too confident and was trying to go too fast.
It is likely to be nothing but might be worth getting his ears looked at if he is the same tomorrow unless he is in any discomfort tonight.

Make an appointment with your GP asap.
Check his temperature.
Is he eating/drinking?
Has he been sick?
How do his eyes look?
Is there anything else unusual about his behaviour?

This happened to my dd when she was two, her balance was totally off and she couldn't walk. SHe had an ear infection, her eardrum burst the next day and she was back to normal.
Still worth getting it checked out.

My ds alwys goes a bit wobbly when he's having a growth spurt so it could be that. It is one of those things that you need to mention to your dr though as there are lots of things it could be.

If he seems otherwise ok I'd get him checked tomorrow.
If he has a sudden spiking temp or is very ill then obviously ooh.
I'd suggest its more than likelt his ears (balance) or else him just coming down with a bug.
I take it he hasn't bumped his head or anything? His pupils are dilating etc?

Thanks all for the responses. Much appreciated. No other symptoms and out of hours doc think it's probably an ear infection.
