dd had a sudden raging headache last night, i'd say migraine actually.

This morning she's freezing cold, looks like someones given her two black eyes.

grrrrrrr, i realy hope she gets better for tomorrow, she missed weeks of school last term and i really want her to get back in for first day. She is a little anxious about it all as it is.

WHY !!!!! she has been so well. Two people i know have horrid colds atm, and i feel like i am coming down with something, i feel headachy.

ineedapoo Wed 01-Sep-10 12:21:59

ds has just had diarrhoea aaaaaargh

piratecat Wed 01-Sep-10 12:23:37

oh no!!

bloody hell

Galena Wed 01-Sep-10 13:29:55

Diarrhoea can be down to nerves - I've had a few children in classes over the years who have had this problem before term starts each time. As for the fluey thing - your poor DD. Hopefully she'll be better soon.

ineedapoo Wed 01-Sep-10 14:33:32

what would you do only one bout today, send him and hope for the best ???

Galena Wed 01-Sep-10 17:35:41

Yeah - if he seems well in himself, but have a quick word with the teacher (or send a note) so if he says he feels unwell she will be forewarned. Say that you're sure it's just pre-term nerves and he's not poorly. Also make sure you're contactable, just in case!

piratecat Wed 01-Sep-10 18:45:21

hope ds gets better.

my dd has had a banging headache suddenly again accompanied by being boiling hot. I sent her to bed for an hour and she managed to sleep. She hates sleep.

I am just keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

GypsyMoth Wed 01-Sep-10 18:47:41

wel we're rarely ill in this household,me especially

but i have a horrid cold....headache/blocked sinus/sore throat. just hope the dc dont pick it up too

piratecat Wed 01-Sep-10 18:53:51

same here, i was jsut congratulating us 2 days back on how well we've been. duh!

littledawley Wed 01-Sep-10 18:59:26

sad piratecat but that sounds suspiciously like a virus that we suffered from at the beginning of the holidays. DD was really unwell (headache, temperature kept going over 40) - she was poorly for three days before I took her to the doc as I thought they wouldn't do anything but they gave her antibiotics. She was unwell for a good five days.
dragonfly - your symptoms sound just like mine. I had two days where I described it as a 'horrid cold' but days 3&4 were flu and I couldn't function at all - had to phone my cleaner at 6am to come and look after the children. It cleared as quickly as it came but I really hope that it's not the same for either of you.

huffythethreadslayer Wed 01-Sep-10 19:01:01

I woke with a migraine this morning and have spent all day feeling totally spaced out, giddy and slightly nauseous. Am about to go to bed with my dd, once she's finished her pudding....Not nice!0

piratecat Wed 01-Sep-10 19:02:01

god me too. i wouldn't normally be so concerned, but i think it's important for her to be back in on the first day. she was off school from 2nd may ths yr with her hip problem.

GypsyMoth Wed 01-Sep-10 19:06:44

i think its just a flu/cold but because i'm so very rarely ill it feels magnified x 10!!

also slightly nauseus too,and i'm a lone parent with 5 dc,so had to get the older ones to pitch in today. today is day 2.

and also, due to illness being rare, have nothing medicinal in the house, except for paracetamol!! would love something like lemsip....are children allowed to buy it from a chemist?? am guessing not.

Mum72 Wed 01-Sep-10 19:07:35

The kids dont go back until the 12th but I start college next weds.

I am the ill one here. Almost 2 weeks of sore throat, earache, shivers, cough, spaced out brain fog, hot, cold etc etc. Alot more crap than the normal crappy cold!!

Hope I recover by next week and that I have not passed it onto the girls in time for them to go back to school.

not sure about the lemsip, how old is your oldest?

we only have paracetamol here too, and tbh i don't think anything else really works. gp's always say just take paracetamol don't they.
you must be run ragged. dd complained about feeling sick earlier too.

piratecat Wed 01-Sep-10 19:20:26

mum72, god you have been ill for ages! hope you get much better for college.

herbietea, it is annoying when they have to have things done in term time. hope it all works out. dd was meant to go for her first steroid jab into her hip on the 15th, luckily she won't need it. Yet we've been waiting since june for that.

GypsyMoth Wed 01-Sep-10 19:23:29

eldest is 16,no idea of age guides for medicines tho!!

The only thing that worked for us was to alternate ibruprofen and paracetamol - I hope you can find someone to go and get you some x

piratecat Thu 02-Sep-10 09:52:49

Well she's not in school. Isn't well at all, so here we are AGAIN.

I worked it out, me and her have been in each others company for 17 weeks now. OMFG!

littledawley Thu 02-Sep-10 13:28:02

Poor, poor you (and her obviously!). Just keep telling yourself that by Monday all will be right in the world. Sending hugs (whether they be Mumsnetty or not!!)

piratecat Thu 02-Sep-10 14:08:05

aw thanks, i love an unmumsnetty hug, they are becoming more frequent these days it seems.
x
have a kiss lol

littledawley Thu 02-Sep-10 23:43:33

I'll take that kiss! 16month old will not go to sleep and I'm knackered- she's normally one to sleep 12hrs but it's now 11:43 and she's still wailing.
Sorry, nothing to do with your thread, I just needed to have a little moan!!

piratecat Fri 03-Sep-10 05:18:07

oh feel free, i hope you managed to get some rest. If you check out the time of ths post you will see it's not going well here.

dd has been feverish on and off all eve and night. I am going to take her to gp, will ring them when they open at 8.00

DD has such a sore throat i am suspecting a throat infection. Her temp was 101 earlier.

more tea for me.
