Has anyone bought a Treasury of Children's Poetry recently?

I'm looking for something similar I had as a child. It's for my soon-to-be 10 yrs dd. Can't seem to find anything suitable on Amazon and I live abroad, so can't search the shops.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Didnt want to leave your thread un answered. I have A poem a day book for my DC. They also do a range called Poems for 5/6/7 etc year old.

My 2 really enjoyed reading and laughing at the nonsense ones.

we got given one as a present recently - I mentioned what it was on a post the other day, let me see if I can find it because the book is in the (now asleep) children's room

this is it - www.mileskelly.net/products-page/age-5-7/poems-for-young-children/

absolutely fantastic and my 4 and 5 year old love it. so many different styles, topics, really beautifully laid out and including lots and lots of classic poems.

personally I think it is suitable for any age but he might be put off by the young children name so there are a couple of others on Miles Kelly's website. I have no idea what they are like but worth looking at

no problem - my youngest daughter was given it by a friend for her birthday. her friend's mum is an English lit expert and feels many children miss out on poetry. It really is a beautiful book.

It looks beautifully illustrated too...thanks ... looks as though it just fits the bill.

Not sure if they deliver abroad, but fortunately there's still time to deliver to UK and pick up.

Jax like the look of "A poem a day" for dipping in and out of too.

Also, through browsing on that, have found this list which could prove useful.

Thanks again both!
