3 post CS tomorrow.

Bleeding had slowed down and was dark in colour.

Now bright red and lots of it. I have been doing more, walking, cleaning etc.

Is it normal to have a rush at the end, maybe? <hopeful>

It is common for it to increase after increasing your activity levels also it tends to get heavier 7-10 days post birth too. Are you passing clots? Does it smell?

Yes I'd say that was normal, I'm sure that happened to me (didn't have c/s though).

no clots, no smell.

I have had two children before - but 9 and 4 years ago and I can't remember any of this stuff grin

I was half hoping to be told I'm obv doing too much and have an excuse to get back on the sofa wink

Thanks both

Mine had stopped then restarted and was red after 5 weeks and it really was because I was doing too much. If it is red later on you need to worry about retained products but not at this early stage. Is your Dh still laid up with sciatica or can he start waiting on you again?

GP prescribed him v strong painkillers and anti inflammatories and has referred him to the physio - he moved into the back bedroom a few weeks ago (can't be tired at work and as I'm BF, made sense for him to get uninterrupted sleep!) and last night I suggested it might be the bed: so he slept in our bed last night and woke up feeling tons better - we're both hoping it was the crappy bed in back bedroom that made it flare up, so we will see how it goes.

Its hard for me to insist on being waited on when he's so bad!

Well that sounds promising.

I'd just be as lazy as possible in the mean time. I've come to be quite an expert at it myself and my ds is now 16 weeks so I really ought to be a bit more active - but I'm not trying to impress anyone.

Yep, feet up. I was told that increased red blood pp was a sign of overdoing it!

MamaG re your hubby, do you have a memory foam mattress topper? It'll probably help him if he wants to sleep in the other room.

I think a new bed is in order really hedge. We will get a decent single that DS can use when he's older, luckily we have the room.

The bed he's been sleeping in is rather old.
