I was 40+5 with dd1, but she was a speedy delivery. Mw and consultant said this one
May be earlier. Not necessarily early early, but earlier than 40+5. Any truth in this?

Nope, I went overdue both times. The key word here is 'may'. Which in this context means bugger all
Well my first was 38.5 weeks and my second was 37 weeks on the dot. First birth wasn't particularly fast though but second was very much faster at 4 hours start to finish.
However third was 39 + 4 and so my 'latest' delivery! Again fours hours in total. So not sure what that tells you!

first born at 39 weeks
second born at 35/6 weeks
My first was born three weeks early, my second was induced at over two weeks late. Frustratingly the consultant said to be ready for an even earlier delivery second time, so from about 36 weeks it felt like we were overdue!
DD 40+4
DS 39+4
so true for me. but second labour was longer just to disprove something else!

First was 41 weeks, second 39 weeks, third 38+4. Remains to be seen if flump arrives even earlier! They got progressively quicker, as well. First was 3 hours 28, second 2 hours 16 and third 2 hours 3

Dd was 40+5 also, which is not considered overdue here in France, it's considered early if anything. Currently 39+3 and hoping to go a bit longer! Could really do with more time even though I am exhausted and struggling.

I think it really varies. My first was 40+7, second 40+0. However a good friend had two early labours first two times (38 and 37 weeks) and was told by mw and consultant she'd likely be early again. She was 40+5 and getting pretty fed up by that point as she'd been given the expectation it would be four weeks earlier.
