hello there, has anyone used one of these, or know of anything cheaper that works? it is the one where the chuck stands on lever and the top goes up so they can feed, when they step off top comes down. it is rat proof... which is our problem really, can't control them even with the rat man! it is £95 which is so much money and I wondered if there were any cheaper ones around, i have had a look but the grandpa ones look lovely or maybe just good marketing?

I bought a treadle feeder just like that and the girls get on with it well. Mine was £50 from a poultry show. Do be careful though as they can kick mud, etc into the workings and foul it up (!) but stop it functioning.

Put a brick on the step for a week to encourage them to learn to use it
