Recommendations for first timers place within 60 miles of London to glamp/luxury camp

Me and another camping novice mum at school have been encouraged by our 7 year old daughters to go camping for one or two nights over the summer. We would like to go but to be honest are possibly coming to camping a little late in life and are scared we will hate it. We also have no camping equipment. We have therefore tried to research yurts, glamping and generally places you can go and the set up is there for you. We are now totally confused and it seems a bit dangerous just going for any site with no recommendation. We can travel within 60 miles of London but ideally would stay close to Hertfordshire/Essex. Does anyone have recommendations of places that might suit us two clueless camping mums? Thanks very much.

I am sure that someone who knows that area will be along soon with recommendations but, in the meantime, you could do worse than check out //www.ukcampsite.co.uk and/or //www.coolcamping.co.uk for ideas (and reviews) of sites. You can narrow down your searches by location and other things you would particularly like.

Bump, because I'd like a recommendation too!

Tatton lodge near Stratford upon Avon is absolutely fantastic. Is that too far? You've nothing to fear, it'll be fun!

we've just come back from the Secret Campsite, it was brilliant! We took our own tent but they have a bell tent with all equipment, you just need sleeping bags, they even provide a stove.
