I am going to put eyelets in one of mine so it can become a temporary and most excellent shade inducing tarp for the beach in hot forrin. i am extremely pleased with myself for thinking of this. The silver backedness wiil make some serious fuck off shade propped up with my extendable lightweight tarp poles (yet to be purchased)

Are they actually picnic blankets or the silver things runners wrap round themselves.

I'm not sure I'm looking for the right things.

picnic blanket backed with heavy duty silver foilness. Have never believed the thermal magics of sticking them under your sleeping mats/air beds at night but the fabric + silver lining does give a pleasing underfoot thickness to the whole thing.

That's what I was looking for Slubber. I can't find them on Ebay so will have to wait for the Aldi/Lidl klaxon

It always sounds, usually to announce the imminent arrival of the aldi sim.

I have these extra large ones from Lidl. They have been great for insulating under the air bed - definitely makes a difference. The website says they are back in stock now.

ooh dh would love a SIM, he's stuck with roll mats atm.

I have a fat aric I bought ages ago when I first started reading the camping threads. I got caught up in all the excitment and bought one even though I didn't even own a tent at the time Blush

Its taken me this long to talk dh into camping.

I get you, Carriedaway - it took me at least 2 years to persuade DH to come camping. Now he's hooked and so long as he has a fire and his axe then he's happy.
