We've just booked 2 weeks in France for our summer hols. We were getting quotes of £866 to £1,100 for ferry crossings (yes, I know August is peak season, but still!) which nearly made me say forget it.
But then the superb Carefree operative suddenly suggested travelling on Sunday with Condor from Portsmouth to Cherbourg - the caravan goes free!! The ferry crossing (via the Camping and Caravan Club) was only £250 return!! So even including 2 weeks full service camping site it's still a lot less than the eye-watering £866 ferry cost initially quoted.
Just thought I would post as always great to save some money, and this is a substantial saving :-)
That is certainly a good deal you've got there, well done - lots of people on ukcamping seem to use DFDS with their caravans so it might be worth checking them out next year. Where are you heading to in France? When it's this cold outside I love planning our continental adventure
