Just seen these (on the Caravan Channel! Blush

It heats your water whilst cooking outside, so you can wash up in 85 degree water! I so need one of these for when we are at those sites with minimal facilities.

Jompy

I saw one in action at the Outdoors show last year and it looked brilliant. They're currently out of stock, but I spoke to the owner/inventor last week - they're expecting new stock mid March. If you register interest now (go to the buy now page and then enter your email address) you can buy it at 20% discount once available. There are some cool You Tube videos - I like the the one where he illustrates it for a make-shift festival or basic camping shower.

would you just use it for making hot water to wash with? cos we just got a ghillie kettle for making tea but this could do that too....

SalAbility · 01/03/2012 09:24

Well, you're supposed to be able to use it for anything, and if we had to make coffee for a lot of people or for hot water bottles, I'd use Jompy as quicker. Just for us though, I'd continue using Storm kettle as I like the ritual of packing and dropping in twigs and watching the flames. [future arsonist badge]

In case anyone interested, I just got an email that you can order on line again, with delivery expected mid March. 20% discount was applied too - now just to wait for the delivery. I'm ridiculously excited. Wonder if dh would notice if I start making his coffee water on the stove top... Grin

ThisisYesterday - I had never heard of a Ghillie Kettle before, but googled and now DH wants one of those!
