Looking for a basic campsite(showers/washing up facilities) somewhere near coast and nice countryside, bit of forest maybe, somewhere in northumberland. Anybody got any reccomendations!

We love Longcroft certificated site - 10 mins from Alnwick ...

We went to Highburn House in Wooler, it is inland but in lovely countryside on the edge of a small town. The site has showers/washing up facilities and a couple of small play areas. 5 mins walk into Wooler which has a small supermarket, a couple of pubs, a couple of tearooms and a fish and chip shop. While there we visited Bamburgh Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and a couple of National Trust places. We chose inland as we were concerned about how windy it would be on the coast.

Hawkhirst is a scout campsite besides Kielder Water in Northumberland, but non-scouts can camp there too. It's lovely, really big site in the woods with many little clearings, fantastic views, can have fires in set spots. Lots of thinks to do in Kielder Forest - ferries, nice walks, bike hire, animal hides, bird of prey centre etc. The midges can be bad, though.

Or I hear that the campsite at Bamburgh is nice too. I've never stayed, but Bamburgh village is charming as has a really nice beach and castle.
