Last year my random Google searching for dream sites turned up Ferme de Prunay in the Loire. A bit more Google searching and I found the ACSI camping card scheme and early booking discounts with DFDS Now I have the Jubilee bank holiday week booked and nearly all paid for. 7 nights on a massive pitch on a small site with pool, playground, and animals, within spitting distance of vineyards and chateaux. All in - inc petrol - for the same price as a week on one of our local basic but inexplicably expensive and chi chi Sussex sites. Happy days... I'm going to eat my own body weight in goats cheese washed down with vin blanc whilst watching the children in the playground from the comfort of my hammock!
