Anyone been to Beekse Bergen in The Netherlands? I've just booked 5 nights there in a Eurocamp safari tent at Easter.
Was looking at holland for Easter or Whitsun and intending to use the ACSI camping card and our own tent when I stumbled across Eurocamp's safari tents at Beekse Bergen. With the ferry discount via Eurocamp, it's working out about £25 more expensive than taking our own tent to De Kleine Wolf (which looks excellent and is still an option for Whitsun, if I can tear myself away from France during the summer) but we won't have to pitch or strike and we can go to the safari park as many times as we want. The safari tent looks brilliant - has anyone stayed in one? Can you move the middle wall forward to enclose the entire decked area in case of really bad weather?
Yipee... let 2012 camping commence (with one night in a pod in 4 weeks time!)
Hi cheerup, sorry I can't add anything helpful I'm afraid but the campsite and those tents look awesome! Have you looked at UKcampsite.co.uk?
I'm off to check eurocamp.....

Hi - I am afraid I can add nothing about the tent as we always go for a mobile home/caravan but the site is fabulous!
There are three routes through the safari park if I recall - walking, boat and bus, and I think you must be able to drive yourself too maybe? Each way gives you different views and animals so you really can go as many times as you like without getting bored. A road train runs from the site or you can walk over the bridge or drive and park.
There is also the boat over the lake - we were almost on first name terms with the 'captain'
and then there is the water play area and pony rides and so much more!
Really, this is one of our favourite sites and we first went when DD1 was only about 6mo. We hope to go again next year and stay in a jungalow!
Feeling jealous - enjoy!

Thanks for replying Dysgu. It sounds all I'm hoping for. Roll on Easter!
It does look good doesn't it mummyisamonsterf. I've checked UK Campsite but it doesn't seem to have much of a UK following so have had to google translate lots of Dutch reviews. Dysgu's report above is one of the few that have made any sense to me - even after translation!

If Im not mistaken those tents are de waard Albatrosses!!
The Rolls Royce of canvas loveliness
That Albatross is v similar to my Hypercamp Palamos - but about £1000 more expensive (and clearly I don't have iron bedsteads in my tent
)
