Baby vomiting a lot but happy

Hi all. DS is 11 weeks, EBF. Since he was about four weeks old he's spat up/vomited a lot. Pretty much after every feed, and sometimes up to an hour afterwards. Sometimes it's only a tiny bit but sometimes it's a lot.

It doesn't seem to bother him. Occasionally he might cry or writhe around but 95% of the time he isn't phased. He's growing very well (on 98th percentile for height and weight!) and is generally a happy, healthy kid.

Because it doesn't seem to bother him I don't see the point in medicating him, but must admit the very frequent outfit changes (for both me and him!) and laundry is getting old 😂

Did anyone else have a happy spitter? When did it get better?

I've had two happy pukers! DD1 grew out of it by six months. I think it got a lot better around four months. By six it had totally stopped.

DD2 is only 11 weeks and has just spewed on me as I type this Grin

Both not bothered by it in the least but the laundry is a real pain!

Me. Exactly the same. She used to vomit with glee and then beam at me. Stopped at exactly 6 months. To the day. And I hadn’t started her on solids yet so it wasn’t that, she literally just stopped it.

She got a sickness bug earlier this year just before she was 3 and hadn’t puked in so long she didn't have a clue what was happening.

You and he sound like you’re doing absolutely brilliantly, the laundry will suck but that’s probably the only issue. Take heart, it will end!

Oh yes DD1 then wasn't sick from six months until we got Norovirus when she just turned 3! She's not a sicky child at all.

Yep! Bibs were a saviour also multiple Muslims over cot mattress and pram mattress - as soon as they puke you can whip the top layer off and avoid a whole sheet change.

Oh FFS muslins- sorry 🤦🏻‍♀️

Another one that drastically reduced the spitting up after 6M. That probably feels like an age right now, sorry! She’s 19M now and DH and I sometimes fondly reminisce, “do you remember when she icked every time we picked her up/put her down/fed her?”. It’s all about the bibs and muslins.
